Introduction to Alma Opus Plasma

Sagging. Wrinkling. Fading. These words can be a little depressing to many people, especially when using them to describe their skin. As you get older and have more exposure to the sun and lose collagen, it can create an appearance that most people wouldn’t consider flattering. Thankfully, there is a technological breakthrough that can treat these conditions and give you a soft little reboot for your skin.

At Azul Aesthetics & Wellness Boutique in Syracuse, NY, we strive to provide the best Alma Opus skin resurfacing results around. To learn more about this great rejuvenating skin treatment, please continue reading below.

What is Alma Opus Plasma?

Alma Opus is a high-frequency, unipolar treatment that uses Fractional Plasma technology designed for skin resurfacing. This first-of-its-kind device can address superficial to complex textural and skin-quality concerns that would normally be corrected using conventional lasers, but the Opus Plasma requires less downtime and provides a higher level of safety.

The handheld device used to treat your skin has little metal prods that protrude out and are charged by radio-frequency energy that creates plasma as it reacts to the atmospheric pressure. When it’s applied to your skin, the plasma-rich energy helps trigger your body’s natural healing abilities to smooth away wrinkles and tighten your skin without creating any disturbance.

Alma Opus Recovery

After your procedure, you will be able to return to your normal routine, however, you may experience some slight redness or swelling in the treated area for the next 24 – 48 hours. This reaction is completely normal and should subside over the next day or so.

You should avoid UV exposure for the next few weeks because your skin will be hypersensitive to harsh rays. If you do go outside, we strongly recommend wearing a good sunscreen of at least 50 SPF and reapplying every few hours or so. You should also avoid using any abrasive products such as retinol or hydroquinone during these two weeks. When you follow these directions and stay vigilant in protecting your skin, you will be able to enjoy better results.
