Mirconeedling – Your solution to more collagen and healthier-looking skin!

Whether you are experiencing a loss in skin elasticity, have naturally larger pores, suffering from hair loss, or a multitude of other skin problems that don’t make you feel like your best self, there is a wonderful modern procedure called Microneedling that can lead to positive visible changes to your skin in just a few short office visits. At Azul Aesthetics & Wellness Boutique in Syracuse, NY, we desire to help you regain the smoother and healthy skin you desire in a safe, comfortable environment.

While we provide several options to help you achieve your appearance goals, many of our patients elect to receive Microneedling, which is a fast and less expensive approach to laser treatment and promotes rejuvenation and revitalization throughout your skin.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses tiny sterilized needles to prick your skin. The incredibly tiny puncture wounds cause your body to create extra elastin and collagen which heals your skin and helps you look younger.

Who are the Best Candidates for Miconeedling?

We believe that anyone who has unwanted scarring, wrinkles, or hyperpigmentation can be a good candidate for a microneedling treatment.

If you are experiencing any sort of skin infection or open wounds, we would advise that the condition be resolved prior to undergoing this treatment.

What are the Benefits of Microneedling?

We have seen so many benefits from microneedling in our Syracuse patients. Not only is it less expensive than laser treatments, but it also provides help with certain skin ailments such as:

Acne
Alopecia (hair loss)
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Larger Pores
Scars
Stretch Marks
Sun Damage

In addition, microneedling works better for people with darker skin tones because it doesn’t involve any heat that can affect your skin’s pigmentation.

What’s the First Step?

If you are interested in receiving the Microneedling in Syracuse, we encourage you to contact our boutique and schedule a consultation with one of our certified and experienced team. Here you will be able to discuss your problematic areas, learn more about the Microneedling process, and come up with a plan that is right for you.

What to Expect on the day of Microneedling?

When you come into our boutique for your Microneedling treatment, your doctor will begin by applying a numbing cream that is smoothed onto your face so you won’t feel any discomfort from the needle pricks. After giving the cream a few minutes to take effect, we will use a pen-shaped rolling tool that has many tiny needles on it all around your face. There may be some minor bleeding from the needles cutting your skin, but this is perfectly normal. After the microneedling is completed, your doctor will spread another cream on your face to help with the healing process.

The entire procedure takes around 10-20 minutes, depending on the size of the area that needs treatment. Since this is a non-invasive procedure, you will be able to head home almost immediately following your treatment.

Microneedling Recovery

Depending on the intensity and your body’s reaction to the treatment, it may take anywhere from a week to two weeks to fully recover. You may experience some mild pain after the procedure but this can be alleviated with over-the-counter pain medication such as ibuprofen. You may also experience some redness on your skin for a few days, but this is temporary and completely normal. In addition, you may experience tightness in your skin, light peeling, and mild bruising while your skin heals. There is also the possible yet rare chance of infection or possible scarring. We highly suggest keeping the treated area clean as best as possible and avoiding any places that could have a lot of germs, such as lakes, rivers, oceans, and swimming pools. If you have experienced keloids (scars that look like bubbles on the skin), please inform your doctor during your consultation as microneedling may not be the right treatment for you.

FAQs

  • Is Microneedling painful?

On average, microneedling is not painful because our team will provide you with some numbing cream prior to your treatment. You may feel the prickling sensation due to the tiny needles and you’re skin may bleed, but thanks to the cream, it should feel closer to a mild sensation as opposed to actual pain.
  • How long will the results last?

Many of our patients are able to enjoy the results of microneedling for up to six months following their sessions. It is important to remember that microneedling is not a “forever cure” for everything, but a quick and less expensive treatment to obtain smoother healthier-looking skin.
  • How long until I can see my results?

You may begin to start seeing some results after about a week when your swelling and redness should subside. However, depending on the severity of your treatment, you may need to have repeat visits (some patients require 4-6) in order to gain the full effect of microneedling.

What our clients and patients have to say:

“I am so thrilled with my lips! Dr. Lissa took her time and listened to me. This was my first experience with filler, and I was wanting a very conservative change. This is exactly what we achieved! I am very pleased with the final result and will be back for future visits!”
“Just left Dr. Diaz and was very impressed. Knowledgeable seems to have a great eye and actually talked me out of doing too much. I booked my next appointment for three months from now for my botox and filler. I’m so glad I found her.”
